Chiefs vs. Eagles: Super Bowl LVII Preview and Prediction

Super Bowl LVII is set to be an unforgettable game as the Philadelphia Eagles face off against the Kansas City Chiefs. Both teams have a rich history of success and have proven themselves to be amongst the best in the NFL. This game promises to be a highly entertaining and competitive battle, as both teams bring unique skills and strengths to the table.

The Eagles come into the Super Bowl after a remarkable season. After going 9-8 in Nick Siriani’s first year as head coach, Philadelphia would follow that up by going 14-3 in 2022. Their 14-3 record allowed them to get the number one seed in the conference. Their defense has been critical to their success, ranking third in the NFL in total yards allowed. The Eagles have also been led by quarterback Jalen Hurts, who had a breakthrough year and established himself as one of the league’s top quarterbacks. He closed out the season with 3,701 passing yards and 22 touchdown passes. Hurts also rushed for 760 yards and 13 touchdowns on the ground.

The Kansas City Chiefs, on the other hand, come into the Super Bowl after one-year hiatus. Since 2018, Kansas City has appeared in at least the AFC championship or the Super Bowl. The narrative of them taking a step back in the conference went away fast after they repeated as division champions for the seventh straight season. Their offense has been remarkable, led by quarterback Patrick Mahomes. Mahomes had another outstanding season, throwing over 5,250 yards and 41 touchdown passes.

Those numbers allowed the former Red Raider to win his career’s second Most Valuable Player award. The Chiefs also have a strong defense, which has been crucial in their success this year. They finished behind the Eagles in sacks with 55 and 11th in total defense. Now that the preview has been discussed, the staff at Strike 7 Sports gives their breakdowns, along with score predictions for Sunday’s big game.

The biggest game of the year is finally here. The two best teams are playing in this Super Bowl. This will be an exciting game because this will be the first Super Bowl between two black quarterbacks with two different playing styles. This game will be tight through three quarters, and the Chiefs will pull away in the fourth.

Chiefs 38, Eagles 28

Super Bowl LVII will come down to two key factors. Those factors are the Eagles’ rushing attack against the Chiefs’ defense. The successful one will prevail with a Super Bowl title when it’s over. Kansas City must force Jalen Hurts to remain a pocket for a significant portion of the game. However, the secondary must do its part as well. Hurts has developed into an efficient passer of the packet. His 22 touchdown passes are a testament to his growth. I have to be honest here.

The Eagles’ path to the Super Bowl has been one of the easiest I have seen in recent memory. That’s mainly because the entire NFC was so wide open. And when they faced tough opposition, it went away due to the injury of 49ers QB Brock Purdy. That said, I am siding with the QB/coach combo that has been at this stage before. The Lombardi returns to Kansas City for the second time in three seasons.

Chiefs 31, Eagles 27

In one of the more anticipated Super Bowl matchups in a while, the Philadelphia Eagles will take on the Kansas City Chiefs for the right to be called NFL champs.

Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts, one of the top dual-threat quarterbacks in the league, saunters into the Super Bowl looking to cement a season that culminated with Philly finishing with the best record during the season. Kansas City, guided by league MVP Patrick Mahomes, seeks to quiet the doubters who vividly remember the 2021 Super Bowl, which ended with a 30-9 defeat to Tampa Bay.

Despite a strong offense that overwhelmed opponents all season, I think that the Eagles find a way to limit the Chiefs. With several of their wide receivers just getting off the injury list, Kansas City will find a way to keep this game close, but Hurts and Philly will end up pulling this game out.

Score- 35-24, Philadelphia
