Start ‘Em

Justin Herbert

After a slow start to the season, Herbert has turned things around. He had a solid outing against the Chiefs, throwing for 280 yards and two touchdowns. His receivers, Joshua Palmer and Keenan Allen were on fire, catching 13 passes for 200 yards and two TDs. This week, he will face an easy matchup against Arizona. The Cardinals have allowed the most the sixth-most fantasy points to QBs this season with 19.6. With the way the offense has been clicking lately, Herbert should be able to put up some good numbers again this week.

Geno Smith

Smith needs to be in your starting lineup this week. He is going into a matchup where he can put up a lot of points. The Seahawks take on a Raiders team that has allowed the third-most fantasy PPG to QBs this season at 21.1 per game. Since Week 3, Smith has reached 18 points in all but two games in 2022.

Tua Tagovailoa

The Houston Texans versus the Miami Dolphins matchup have fantasy goldmine written all over it, especially if you are a fantasy owner of Dolphins QB Tua Tagovailoa. The third-year signal-caller out of Alabama is having a breakout season. He has thrown three touchdown passes or more in four games this season. Coming off a bye week, Tagovailoa will face a Texans defense that is ranked second to last in total defense. If you are a fantasy owner of players such as Tagovaliloa, Tyreek Hill, or Jaylen Waddle, you have had this matchup circled on your calendar long ago.

Sit’Em

Aaron Rodgers

Aaron Rodgers has been playing better than in the first two months of the regular season. He seems to have found a new target in the passing game in rookie WR Christian Watson. But for this week, fantasy owners need to bench the four-time MVP. In Week 12, Rodgers and the Packers face the Philadelphia Eagles. Philadelphia’s defense allowed the fewest fantasy PPG to QBs in the last month (8.3) and the season (9.3). They are also ranked third in the league in sacks with 33.

Russell Wilson

There’s no other way to put it; Russell Wilson is in a bad situation right now. He is working with a brand new HC that is in over his head in Nathaniel Hacket. Despite facing one of the league’s worst defenses in the Las Vegas Raiders in Week 11, Wilson only recorded 10.68 fantasy points. He has gone under 15 points in five-straight games this season. On Sunday, the Broncos face a Panthers defense that has proven to be a tough out against any opposing offense. As an owner, I would not risk starting Wilson against Carolina this Sunday. At this point in the year, you should release him and utilize the waiver wire for a better option for the position. The upside with Wilson is not that right now.

Andy Dalton

As crazy as it sounds, Andy Dalton’s fantasy production isn’t all that bad. However, it’s not enough to where you want to go out and claim the veteran QB off waivers. In Week 11, Dalton had put up 22.2 fantasy points against a very good Rams defense. But do not get your hopes up and believe that you found a sleeper late in the season. Dalton has struggled to put together back-to-back performances that would make you rush to the waiver wire and claim him. Dalton and the Saints travel to San Fransico on Sunday to take on the 49ers. The Niners’ defense is ranked fourth in PPG allowed 17.3 and fourth with 32 sacks. Overall, they are the number one ranked unit on defense. Go ahead and preserve the “Red Rifle” for another day.
