NFL Start’ Em, Sit ‘Em for Week 11: Tight Ends

Cole Kmet

Bears tight end Cole Kmet finished the day with a season-high 23.4 fantasy points against the Detroit Lions last week. Dating back to Week 9, his targets have also increased due to the growth of Justin Fields as a passer. With the chemistry between Fields and Kmet on the rise, now is the time to buy into the hype generated by many fantasy gurus. The Bears face an Atlanta Falcons squad that is ranked in the top ten in terms of surrendering the most fantasy points to a tight end.

Hayden Hurst

I know managers bailed on Hayden Hurst during the Bengals’ bye week, but if he is available, you need to go back and add him to your roster. With WR Ja’Marr Chase not seeing time, the targets should increase for passing options like Hurst. T.J. Watt returned to the Steelers lineup in Week 10 against the Saints, but another impact player may not be available. It is still up in the air if Steelers safety Minkah Fitzpatrick will return to the starting lineup. He recently underwent surgery to remove his appendix. According to a recent report, he did not practice in Wednesday’s session. With Fitzpatrick’s availability unknown, Joe Burrow could connect with Hurst early and often in Sunday’s game.

George Kittle

George Kittle is no longer the must-have tight end you can add to your fantasy roster. However, he still brings value to the position from a fantasy aspect. On Sunday against the Arizona Cardinals, Kittle may be in for a huge day. The Cardinals’ defense has surrendered fantasy PPG to tight ends at 20.9. Their defense has also allowed most targets, catches, yards, and touchdowns to the position. If we know anything about Niners HC Kyle Shanahan, we know he loves exploiting team weaknesses. And he will continue to do so until the clock hits 0:00.

Tyler Higbee

Two months ago, who would have thought that the New Orleans Saints and the Los Angeles Rams would both have losing records heading into their Week 11 matchup? There’s not much to look forward to from a fantasy outlook, especially from the tight ends position. It is best to keep TE Tyler Higbee on the bench. Despite his top-five finish in Week 10, he presents no opposition for the Saints’ defense. Through 10 games, New Orleans has limited tight ends to 7.82 fantasy PPG, which is the second lowest in the NFL. With star WR Cooper Kupp heading to the IR, Dennis Allen will zero in on stopping Higbee.

Robert Tonyan

Robert Tonyan has not returned to the dominant form we saw in Week 6. In a losing effort against the Jets, Tonyan caught ten passes for 90 yards. He has not repeated that type of performance in the following four weeks. Tonyan has only recorded 104 receiving yards since his stellar performance in Week 6. On Thursday night, the Packers host the Tennessee Titans, a squad with one of the league’s best defenses. Please stay away from Tonyan and go with another option.
