The Baltimore Ravens are a franchise with a knack for finding elite players on defense. On Tuesday, they continue to make that narrative accurate. Baltimore signed Saints safety Marcus Williams to a five-year deal worth $70 million, according to ESPN NFL reporter Jeremy Fowler.

It has been reported for quite some time that Williams would have a solid market to choose from if the Saints allow him to become an unrestricted free agent. Williams will be a much-needed addition for a Ravens defense that suffered numerous injuries throughout the season in 2021. 2021 was also the first time Baltimore was not a part of the postseason conversation since 2017.

Williams has grown to become one of the league’s best safeties ever since the Minneapolis Miracle that occurred in his rookie season. Outlets such as Pro Football Focus have constantly brought his name up to some of the best at his position. Williams recorded 74 tackles and two interceptions in his final season in New Orleans.
