One of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers Super Bowl championship run’s key contributors is returning to the team. Linebacker Shaq Barrett texted NFL Insider that he plans to return to the Tampa next season. “I am going back to Tampa,” Barrett informed Anderson. ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter reported that the deal is four-years and worth up to $72 million, including $36 million guaranteed.
Barrett had a phenomenal postseason, especially in the NFC championship game after sacking Aaron Rodgers three times. Barrett signed with the Bucs after the 2018 season after spending his first six seasons with the Denver Broncos. The transaction to sign Barrett back in 2019 is proving to be a steal for the Buccaneers.
Barrett’s skill set is flourishing in Todd Bowles vaunted 3-4 defense. He has combined for a total of 27 sacks during his two seasons with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The recent Super Bowl victory was Barrett’s second Super Bowl title in his career. In Denver, he was only a rookie when the Broncos’ historic defense contributed to Peyton Manning winning his second championship
