NFL Games of the Week Predictions
Falcons vs. Commanders
Bengals vs. Titans
Falcons vs. Commanders
The Atlanta Falcons were supposed to be positioning themselves for a higher selection in next year’s NFL Draft. But instead, they have set themselves up for a playoff push in the second half of the season. They will have to face a red-hot Washington Commanders team to move up in the standings. Washington is 4-1 with QB Taylor Heinicke as the starter. The Old Dominion star has thrown for 1,031 yards with five touchdown passes and four interceptions.
The Commanders’ signature win came in Week 10 against the Philadelphia Eagles. At the time of the victory, the Eagles were undefeated. While the Falcons have one of the best rushing attacks in the league right now, it will not be enough to defeat the Commanders this Sunday. Expect running backs Brian Robinson and Antonio Gibson to have big games against a weak Falcons defensive line.
Commanders 37, Falcons 20
Bengals vs. Titans
The Tennesse Titans have two things that they are trying to accomplish right now. Strengthen their lead in the AFC South and claim the conference’s number-one seed, currently held by the Kansas City Chiefs. As for the Bengals, they are trying to keep pace with the Baltimore Ravens for control of the AFC North. The game is a rematch from last year’s divisional round, in which the Bengals won 19-16.
The divisional round contest is viewed as a launching of Burrow becoming an elite quarterback. Cincinnati would continue its playoff push into the Super Bowl and face the Los Angeles Rams. While Sunday’s rematch is not a playoff game, the stakes are still high. Burrow will be without two of his favorite weapons on offense in running back Joe Mixon and wide receiver Ja’Marr Chase.
Mixon is in concussion protocol, and Chase is still recovering from a hip injury suffered in Week 7 against the New Orleans Saints. Without the star wideout in the lineup, the Bengals’ offense has performed exceptionally well. However, those performances were against bad teams. That will not be the case on Sunday against the Titans. The Tennessee defense is ranked 9th in sacks per game and eighth in interceptions. Combine their defense with the efficient running of Derrick Henry, and the Titans should pull away with their eighth win of the season.
Titans 31, Bengals 20
